The Journey To Shelter

My day was so bad yesterday that the blog refused to post anything but the picture. I was a little upbeat about signing out of the Hostel and into the shelter. Operation save my money was about to kick off! I pulled our my phone and GPSed my destination and started walking. After 20 minutes I started getting irritated because I didn't see the bus stop I was looking for.GPS said turn right at the block so I had. That bitch lied! the stop was actually to the left and at the corner from where I started.  I brushed it off and carried on with the train directions.I be damned if that bitch did it to me again! I sent me 30 minute walk but the street was on the next 2 corners from the subway! OMGS! So I went looking for the building once I was on the street but the address didn't exist. I asked a guy in one building and he sent me back to the street where the subway was. So I went looking and that didn't exist either!  I'm like DAMN! Then another guy sent me back to the street I thought it was on. Found a government building with a Vet rep! They got me in the right direction!  Turns out I used the right address. Smdh. What was supposed to be a 39 minute trip turned into 2 hours.
So I finally get there and there's no bed available. So the case worker asks me if I can go up 6 flights of stairs. You can imagine my Face. I said "hell no! I got bad knees, 80lbs of luggage and all this body. ChILD NO! lol So she says I have to wait for a place with an elevator! 

That was at 4. At midnight I get put on a shuttle to another place in Brooklyn. And by 2am I was given a bed. But while I was waiting,  a nice crazy girl gets herself put out. She was screaming "God is gonna curse your family!  Watch around you, people are gonna get sick! Don't mess with his child! I'm his child. Karma is a bitch!  Where's my transfer?!  Where's my bus?" This went on for about 4 minutes then she meekly comes back to their Window and asks for a supervisor. Talk about Dr. Jeckle!  That went on till the police came. smh Welcome to the shelter life.
