My First NY Audition!

I'm geeked! I've been here for an hour!  People are now warming up, doing makeup, and even flat ironing hair. I forgot to bring Halls, foundation, mascara,  and eye shadow. So I have some luscious lips and eye liner. oh yeah, and my best smile! I'm more at ease now because of donations I was able to book a room for two more days. #winning :-D Ha! where are all the black people?  I just realized I'm the only one. LOL I WILL STICK OUT! (I've got dreams,  dreams to remember)  keeps playing in my head. I'm going hard on this audition with "Hound Dog"! Wish me luck!
OMG the nerves just struck!  It's a tingling in my gut that travels to my fingertips. My breath feels thin before I exhale.
ok... I didn't go well. it didn't happen at all. I dodt get to audition. I signed in on the wrong form and by the time I noticed it,  it was too late and they weren't taking anymore people. it's my fault for not wearing my glasses. smh morning wasted. I need to go clear my head.

*Update *
Well I decided to find a stage tonight and ended up at Sugar Bar for an open mic. Now, I usually carry my bag with everything in it but I decided to leave it and give my shoulders a break. Little did I know that I would need the umbrella inside it. I got slightly damp and slid out of my heel while crossing the street and immediately pulled the flip flops out of the purse. Inside was so warm and cozy! kind of a mix of beach and African. The house band was awesome!  Why do people get confused when I tell them my name is Burgandy I'll never know but he introduced me and I hit it! God a love a stage and a mic.
So, the keyboard guy didn't know Any of my favorite songs like Aretha's "Ain't no way" or Stephanie Mills (I feel good all over). Youngins! lol He did manage to pull through a Whitney classic, " I will always love you". He forgot a few changes but all in all it was ok. I got a decent applause. When I got to my seat the guy that played before me came to me and said that he loved my singing and no one had ever made him cry before... I'm like, for real? me? ok! That was kinda cool! A little while later the Mc/sax player sat and talked with me. Asking about what made me move here and all. He told me I should come back for Tomorrow show too and gave me other spots to sing at!? #WINNING
he also let me sing back up for other people. Today turned out well!
